Children arrive and hang up their coats. Meeting with the whole class, discussions to include the calendar, the weather and the seasons. Sing songs and take attendance.

 

CHOICE TIME: Children may choose from room activities - this includes water/sand play, musical instruments, dramatic play, block building, play-doh, puzzles and manipulatives. Cooking on selected days, physical activities, such as rowing boat and climbing structure, free paint, and other art mediums, and book corner.

 

CLEANUP ROOM: Children learn the responsibility of caring of their classroom materials in this activity. Restroom use is also included at this time.

 

SNACK TIME: Snack is distributed by the children and cleaned up by the children with adult supervision.

 

ACTIVE PLAY: We play outside on the playground daily, weather permitting, to help develop large muscle development and coordination skills.

 

QUIET ACTIVITY: The class gathers and talks about the events of the day, book reading, song singing and finger play are enjoyed at this time.

 

Dimissal of the three-year-old class and four-year-old morning session.

 

LUNCH BUNCH: Part of the extended day program, which is optional. Children bring their lunch to school, and eat with the teachers, helping to develop social skill, table manners and nutrition.

 

LARGE MUSCLE DEVELOPMENT: This can be on the playground to encourage use and development of large muscle groups.

 

GAMES AND ACTIVITIES: The class participates in teacher directed games and activities.
