The Milford Preschool, LLC is a nurturing and innovative program that has operated in Milford since 1972. Our preschool is designed to meet the needs of young children, three to five years old and offers activities in which a child can experience success in any area and at any level of development. The program provides an experience that will enrich and enhance each child’s cognitive, language, social, emotional, physical, and creative development. Within the center’s daily schedule, each child is presented with the opportunity to create, explore their environment, develop problem solving and personal interaction skills, and learn concepts through a balance of self and teacher-directed activities. Our philosophy encourages children to learn through play and hands-on activities such as arts and crafts, dramatic play, blocks, sensory table activities. This practice ensures that each child engages in an optimal level of learning, thereby effectively absorbing information. Math concepts are enhanced with manipulatives, which develop fine motor-muscles and hand-eye coordination. Daily outdoor playground activities enhance large motor-muscle development. Socialization skills are integrated into all activities, helping the children become more efficient communicators and gain self-esteem, confidence, and independence. These skills will aid children in a successful transition into Kindergarten. Community awareness is heightened through organized field trips, classroom visits from community leaders, and various community enhancing activities that benefit local organizations such as the Animal Shelter, Toys for Tots, and food and clothing donations for neighborhood shelters.
The Milford Preschool, LLC participates with “Kids Count of Milford” scholarship program, which provides preschool scholarships to families in financial need. Applications can be obtained via download from the Kids count Website at kidscountofmilford.org. Our preschool follows the Milford Public School Calendar including weather related arrivals and dismissals. All prospective children must be toilet trained and turn three years old on or before December 31st of the calendar school year. |
